The Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association annually awards up to $4,000 in scholarship funds to a student who plans to attend Tuskegee University. Students selected for scholarships receive funds each semester. Receipt of the fully awarded scholarship amount is contingent on students remaining in good standing with the University. It is the responsibility of the students receiving scholarships to provide the Scholarship Committee of the Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association proof of registration for the fall semester. Grades and proof of registration must be submitted at the end of each subsequent semester for continued eligibility.

Eligibility

Scholarship applicants must be Birmingham metropolitan area high school seniors who plan to attend Tuskegee University as full-time undergraduates in the fall freshman class of 2012. Students applying for a scholarship must have a minimum 3.0 high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for scholarships. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria may be disqualified for scholarship consideration if they fail to submit any of the application information, fail to fully complete and sign the application form, or fail to meet the application deadline.

Application Requirements

The items below must be provided to the Scholarship Committee by MARCH 30, 2012.
1. A completed and signed application form.
2. A copy of your high school transcript.
3. A letter of recommendation from one of your instructors.
4. A letter of recommendation from your Principal or Guidance Counselor.

Selection

Upon selection, the Scholarship Committee will contact each applicant regarding their status for the scholarship.
